The Origin Story

The Blóðravn Kindred was formed on April 14, 2022. The founders acknowledged an opportunity in North America for supporting, educating, furthering, and building a community around Heathen beliefs. This acknowledgement served as the foundation for the Kindred's actions. During the formation, Founder Alex brought forth a guiding mantra: "Kinsman to kinsman shall be true." This thought has been the driving spirit of the Kindred ever since.

In support of the Kindred's vision and mission, the founders gathered other like-minded heathens, empowering the Kindred to reach farther, have a larger impact, and focus its efforts on bringing community, education, and support to Ásatrúar in the 21st century. This organic growth has demonstrated that when the right actions are taken with the right people at the right time, synchronicity becomes a catalyst for great things.

It has always been the intent of the Kindred to be a lighthouse for others to come and find solace at the hearth. For this reason, we welcome many growing Ásatrúar under our roof. With guidance from received wisdom, the Kindred continues to provide an opportunity for listening and being listened to. This principle is expressed through rites, rituals, feasts, blóts, and other activities that contribute to the greater Heathen community.

We warmly welcome open-minded individuals who are seeking to learn, find rest, or simply share their hugr with others.
